Business software that still works in ten years.

Essential .NET and SQL Server development for small business and corporate clients — built by people who have been shipping data‑centric systems since the FoxPro era, and who still ship them today.

What we do

The unglamorous software your business actually runs on.

Quoting, scheduling, stock, compliance, billing, reporting — the systems that have to be right every day. We design them, build them, fix them, and keep them alive.

.NET Application Development

Line-of-business applications for Windows and the web. Desktop where the desktop wins, browser where it doesn't, and clean APIs underneath either way.

  • ASP.NET Core
  • Blazor
  • WPF / WinForms
  • C#

SQL Server & Database Development

Schema design that survives contact with reality. Stored procedures, indexing and query tuning — the difference between a report that takes four minutes and one that takes four seconds.

  • SQL Server
  • T-SQL
  • Azure SQL
  • Tuning

Legacy Migration & Modernisation

FoxPro, Clipper, dBASE, Access or VB6 still running the business? We move it to .NET and SQL Server with the data intact and the business rules preserved.

  • VFP → .NET
  • DBF → SQL
  • Access → SQL Server

Integration & Automation

Getting systems to talk to each other: APIs, file and data feeds, scheduled jobs, and the quiet elimination of the spreadsheet somebody re-keys every Monday morning.

  • REST / JSON
  • CSV & EDI
  • ETL
  • Services

Reporting & Business Intelligence

The data is already there. We turn it into operational reports and dashboards that people actually open — accurate, fast, and readable by someone who isn't in IT.

  • SSRS
  • Power BI
  • Dashboards
  • Excel

Support, Maintenance & Rescue

Inherited a critical system with no documentation and no original developer? We've done that many times. We'll stabilise it, document it, and give you a real choice about what happens next.

  • Orphaned systems

  • Handover

Experience

We didn't read about the last four platform shifts. We shipped through them.

Every one of these eras was going to last forever. None of them did. That is precisely why we build the way we do: clear data models, business logic you can find, and no dependency you can't replace.

1990s

The xBase years

dBASE, Clipper and FoxPro. DOS and early Windows business systems, written when every byte and every keystroke counted.

2000s

Client / server

Visual FoxPro and VB6 front ends over SQL Server back ends. Real multi-user systems, real concurrency, real consequences.

2010s

The .NET build-out

C#, the .NET Framework, WinForms and WPF, ASP.NET and n-tier architecture — from small offices to major corporate installations.

Today

Modern .NET

Cross-platform .NET, ASP.NET Core and Blazor, REST APIs, Azure SQL, source control and automated deployment as standard.

The long version

Legacy migration

Your old system isn't a problem. Losing it would be.

That FoxPro or Access application has quietly encoded decades of how your business really operates. The goal is never to throw it away — it's to carry it forward.

  • Full data migration with reconciliation you can verify, record for record
  • Business rules extracted, documented and re-implemented — not guessed at
  • Staged cut-over, so the business keeps trading while it happens
  • A modern platform a future developer can actually pick up

Not sure the effort is worth it? An assessment of the existing system — what's there, what it's worth, and what a move would actually involve — is a sensible first step, and a small one.

Who we work with

Small enough to care. Experienced enough to get it right.

Small & medium business

You need one system that works, delivered by someone who answers the phone. Not an enterprise programme.

Corporate & enterprise teams

Extra senior capacity for a defined piece of work — a database, an integration, a migration nobody else wants.

Owners of ageing systems

Something critical runs on a platform that's out of support, and the person who built it has long since gone.

Businesses outgrowing the spreadsheet

The workbook that ran the operation for years has become the risk. Time for something with a real database behind it.

Two arms

One set of hands, two front doors.

The development practice and the local IT service run side by side, out of the same office in Colac. Same people, same standards — which door you come through just depends on what you need.

About Country IT Care

Recent work

Several angles of one moment, in lock step.

A Windows application that plays multiple camera angles of the same event on a single shared timeline, so a contentious moment can be stepped through frame by frame across every angle at once. The files never start together, so the real work is aligning them once and never losing that alignment again.

Independent decoders kept in step, backward scrubbing made usable, and graphics memory treated as a first-class operational concern rather than a mystery fault.

SpeedGps

A single-screen GPS readout for Android — speed, track, position, altitude and barometric pressure, meant to be glanced at while moving. Built on one rule: never show a plausible-looking but wrong number.
